Andrew Patrick
Bio
Serving in a coaching role begins a new venture in Andrew Patrick’s baseball career. A native of Columbus, Ohio, he played his high school years at Hilliard Darby, and three years in collegiate baseball at Wright State University (2022-2024) his skills and athleticism were recognized and rewarded at local, regional, and national levels. The Horizon League selected Andrew for the All-Freshman Team (2022), for First Team All-Conference in 2023, and as MVP during the league tournament (2023).
Wright State qualified for NCAA regionals at Blacksburg (2022) and at Terre Haute in 2023. In his time at Wright State, Andrew was a part of the team for each of those games. Andrew was also named to the East-ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team (2023). In 2023, he was identified as the first player in Division I baseball to reach 20-plus doubles, 20-plus homers, and 30-plus stolen bases.
Each summer provided additional opportunities in competitive events. Andrew played with the Hamilton Joe’s of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, and the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League. In preparation for the draft in 2024, he played in the MLB Draft League and participated in the MLB Draft Combine.
Andrew was drafted in the 17th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2024 and played in the minors for two seasons. He returned to Wright State to complete his studies and graduated in May of 2026. While in school, he joined the staff at Mannino's Grand Slam USA in Dublin, Ohio where he provides coaching and instruction in fielding and hitting. His experiences there led to an assistant coaching role with the Champion City Half Trax. As assistant coach, his responsibilities include coaching first base, assisting in outfield positioning and development, and establishing hitting fundamentals and development.
